Frequently Asked Questions

Is it sturdy enough for my dog?

Definitely! Our customers have dogs of various sizes, ranging from 12 to 140 pounds, and they have all found it to be highly durable and will not break. When the Pawmee is securely latched, there is no movement even when the dog pushes or pulls on the door. This makes it a significantly stronger cat door latch, capable of accommodating much larger dogs.

My cat is larger than my dog, will this still work?

Pawmee works best when your dog is slightly bigger than your cat. However, many of our customers have found success even when their cat is the same size as their dog. Cats are surprisingly nimble and can squeeze through narrow spaces.
We recommend considering head size or shoulder width when determining if Pawmee will work for your pets.
If your dog is significantly smaller than your cat, Pawmee may not be the best option.

Which door is suitable?

Cat Door Latch works great on standard indoor left or right swinging doors. Unfortunately, it is NOT suitable for pocket doors, sliding doors, double doors, or bi-fold doors.
In summary, it is suitable for doors with lock tongues and 1-5/8 standard door-plate. The distance from the center of the screw hole to the edge of the door frame should be under 1-3/4 inches. (Not suitable for Extended door frames). and the rest are not suitable.

Is this Pawmee cat door holder latch patented?

Yes, a US patent is currently being applied for. This product is originally designed by the Pawmee team. By providing a barrier between cats and dogs in the household, this cat door prop helps create a peaceful and stress-free cohabitation environment for all pets. It is very suitable for families with both cats and dogs. And very easy to use!
